Aaron's Thoughts
Many have called this film Oscar bait, and while there may be some truth to that, it doesn’t change the fact that it’s a beautiful film. The way Branagh highlights the relational dynamics, parental struggles, and pure joy of this family in the face of the unknown is just irresistible to the eye and soul. The cinematography is stunning, Caitriona Balfe is mesmerizing, and Jude Hill is precious. It suffers from a slow first act, but the thrill of act two and the emotional punch of act three really carry the film.
