Aaron's Thoughts
I think the worst part of this was seeing on Letterboxd afterwards that Coen & Cooke have a third movie planned together…
I just don’t understand why the screenplay is so convoluted. It has so many plots and characters that it wants to touch on & it explores none of them effectively. The dialogue is stilted & the attempted “rug pull” is so poorly done that it made me laugh at how stupid it was.
Really on board with what Chris Evans is doing here. I chuckled almost every moment he was on screen. Aside from that, this one is forgettable & a dud. It’s a bummer because Qualley’s performance & character would make for a fun leading character for a more compatible & competent filmmaking duo. Dare I say Ethan and Joel Coen?
