One of the more deranged and embarrassing films I’ve seen this year. The Michele Pfeiffer & Chloë Grace Moretz characters were so unlikeable that it just made me angry.
Maybe if you are going to make a holiday movie about moms, you should try to make sure the mom at the center isn’t insufferable & self-absorbed? Just a thought!
Just really lazy filmmaking and writing from Showalter, someone who is capable of so much more. Flat characters. Stilted dialogue. Lazy swipe transitions. And for some reason decides to mention every other Christmas movie ever made. Which made me just wish I was watching those instead.
The Dominic Sessa and Havana Rose Liu plot line is at least one bright spot, but it’s only like 30 seconds of the movie. So not enough to recommend the film.
